The Nine-Dragon Divine Fire Cover is Taiyi Zhenren’s fire-confining treasure in Investiture of the Gods. Cast over an opponent, it encloses the target while nine fire dragons coil within. Its power lies in transforming the space around an enemy into a place of inescapable burning.
Chapter 13 shows Taiyi using the cover against Shiji after the dispute over Nezha. The flames reveal her original stone form. Nezha sees the treasure and wants it, but Taiyi reserves its transmission for a later stage of his disciple’s service. By chapter 91, Nezha himself deploys it against Chang Hao, who escapes by transformation.
The cover identifies both the formidable immortal teacher and the disciple who inherits his equipment. The enclosed dragons make the marvel visible; the changing fortunes of its targets show that the story does not treat it as an automatic answer to every opponent.
