The Yellowbrow Demon is a powerful demon king in Journey to the West. He builds a false Thunderclap Temple and uses sacred-looking surroundings and Buddhist treasures to trap the pilgrims.
False Thunderclap Temple
He turns deception into architecture, presenting his lair as a holy destination. The false temple gives his demonic court a disciplined and ceremonial appearance.
Two Capturing Treasures
The Golden Cymbals imprison Sun Wukong inside a sealed metal space. The Human Seed Bag captures large groups of opponents, allowing Yellowbrow to defeat heavenly reinforcements as well as the pilgrims.
Battle with the Pilgrims
Yellowbrow fights as a demon king rather than hiding behind illusion alone. Sun Wukong, Zhu Bajie, and Tang Seng are drawn into repeated captures and counterattacks.
Maitreya’s Attendant
The treasures and Yellowbrow’s origin both lead back to Maitreya: the demon king is a rebellious attendant fighting with objects taken from his former master.
