Demon-Subduing Pestle

降魔杵

The Demon-Subduing Pestle is Zheng Lun’s principal weapon in Investiture of the Gods.

Zheng Lun is an armored warrior who rides a supernatural beast, so the pestle is first a practical battlefield weapon for mounted combat, not merely a religious implement.

Zheng Lun’s Weapon

Zheng Lun rides a Golden-Eyed Beast and carries the Demon-Subduing Pestle into battle.

Even without using the white light of his “Heng” power, he can meet enemy generals directly with the weapon. He does not depend on supernatural power alone.

Distinct from Chen Qi’s Pestle

Chen Qi uses the Demon-Sweeping Pestle, or 荡魔杵.

Zheng Lun uses the Demon-Subduing Pestle, or 降魔杵.

Because the novel gives them different names, CG preserves the distinction. This Subject does not include Chen Qi’s weapon. A separate Subject can be considered later if the Demon-Sweeping Pestle has enough visual and story value.

Distinct from Weituo’s Vajra

CG already has a separate Subject for Weituo’s Vajra. It belongs to a different character and visual context.

The two should not be merged simply because English descriptions may use words such as vajra or pestle for both.

CG Visual Language

  • Zheng Lun’s battlefield weapon
  • suitable for mounted combat
  • a heavy pestle form
  • never reduced to a small ritual implement
  • distinct from Weituo’s Vajra

Its exact structure should be decided later from textual evidence, traditional images, popular sculpture, and the CG Visual Canon.
