The Fantian Seal is Guangchengzi’s striking treasure in Investiture of the Gods. A seal ordinarily signifies authority through its impression; here, the recognizable object becomes a weapon cast at an opponent, carrying an immortal’s power into combat.
Chapter 63 places it among the treasures Guangchengzi gives Yin Jiao before sending him to assist the Zhou cause. In chapter 64, the disciple turns against that mission and casts the seal at his own teacher. Guangchengzi escapes by his golden-light method, making the inherited treasure a danger even to the master who entrusted it.
The seal therefore remains closely bound to Guangchengzi even when Yin Jiao carries it. Its story gives the object more than destructive force: it becomes a visible reminder of transmission, trust, and the disastrous reversal of a disciple’s allegiance.
