Paiba Timber Rake

排扒木

The Paiba Timber Rake is Wu Wenhua’s enormous wooden weapon in Investiture of the Gods. Its scale is inseparable from his giant body and from the crushing force he brings to the battlefield.

A Weapon Built for a Giant

Wu Wenhua is described as several zhang tall and strong enough to move boats on land. The Paiba Timber Rake must therefore read as a weapon of exceptional scale rather than an ordinary staff.

Timber-Rake Form

The original name suggests a broad raking timber weapon. CG keeps the term Paiba in English because the text does not supply enough detail to reconstruct a standardized agricultural tool.

Night Attack on the Zhou Camp

Wu Wenhua uses the weapon during his assault on the allied camp. Its wide, heavy movement suits the confusion of a giant sweeping through tightly packed soldiers.

The Death of Longxuhu

Longxuhu confronts Wu Wenhua and is killed by the Paiba Timber Rake. The episode fixes the weapon as a major part of Wu Wenhua’s battlefield identity.
