The Wind-and-Thunder Wings are one of Lei Zhenzi’s most distinctive bodily attributes. They are not ordinary equipment that can simply be worn or removed. They belong to his transformed, supernatural body. In the narrative world of Investiture of the Gods and in later visual tradition, the paired wings turn Lei Zhenzi’s speed, aerial movement, and wind-and-thunder force into a visible form.
Understanding the Wings
“Wind-and-thunder” first describes the energy carried by the wings: rapid movement, flight, the force of rushing air, and a natural connection to Lei Zhenzi’s name and supernatural presence. This page does not treat them as a mechanical flying device or invent a separate system of wing magic. Their essential function is to let the figure move and fight beyond ordinary human limits.
How to Recognize Them
The most important clue is a large pair of eagle-like feathered wings integrated into Lei Zhenzi’s body and overall silhouette. Their feather structure should read clearly, with a broad, powerful shape and supernatural heroic scale. They are not membranous wings, generic angel wings, or detachable equipment. No single wing color is canonical; color may vary with the artwork. See the illustration for the CG visual interpretation.
Lei Zhenzi’s Visual Identity
Many divine generals are recognized by weapons, headgear, or mounts. Lei Zhenzi can be recognized by the outline of his body itself. Once the wings are spread, he separates immediately from other armored figures even without a signature weapon in hand. The Wind-and-Thunder Wings are therefore not secondary decoration but a central structure of his character design.
