Five-Light Stone

五光石

The Five-Light Stone is Deng Chanyu’s named treasure in Investiture of the Gods. Joined to her skill in throwing, a small stone becomes a formidable battlefield weapon. The novel describes her holding it in her palm and casting it back at an approaching pursuer, turning a retreat into an opportunity to strike.

Its importance lies in the connection between the treasure and its wielder. The stone flashes through the air, while Deng Chanyu supplies the timing, accuracy, and tactical judgment. Its appearances in chapters 53 and 66 make it a recurring sign of her presence in battle.

Five-Light preserves the treasure’s name and its association with radiance. A passage describing a single throw does not establish that she possesses only one stone, and the name does not identify a fixed set of five differently colored gems.
