Armor Support Vest

Armor Support Vest is the practical structural name used by Celestial Generals for the foundational garment beneath the first layer of the Pigua system. It is not presented as a documented historical technical term; the surviving historical terminology has not yet been securely established.

The garment is sleeveless and approximately the length of a normal upper garment. It is made from strong, coarse cloth and is structurally stronger than an ordinary undergarment. It should not be imagined as a short modern vest, and it is not the main protective shell of the armor.

Its purpose is to provide a stable base for support and suspension. Functional Attachment Points at the shoulders and lower hem organize Arm Armor, Shoulder Swallows, and Skirt Armor. These points may use small buckle rings, metal rings, chains, leather straps, or fabric ties. The diagram identifies their function rather than prescribing one universal historical fastening method.

Arm Armor and Shoulder Swallows connect around the shoulder area. A Shoulder Swallow can also be secured by fabric straps tied beneath the armpit, allowing its beast-head metal shell to cover the shoulder. In the current Celestial Generals reconstruction, that shell is approximately five millimeters thick; this is a model-specific specification, not a universal claim about historical examples.

Arm Armor and Shoulder Swallows each connect to the Armor Support Vest around the shoulder area. Shoulder Swallows are additionally secured by fabric straps beneath the armpit and should not normally be rigidly fixed to Arm Armor, because shoulder movement needs extra freedom. In the current CG reconstruction the beast-head shell is approximately five millimeters thick; this remains a model-specific value.

The approved diagram gives each left and right large Skirt Armor panel three upper Attachment Points along the vest hem. Other suitable reconstructions may use multiple points or structurally integrate a panel with the support garment. The two Arm Armor components, two Shoulder Swallows, and two large skirt panels form a stable peripheral assembly.

The garment therefore functions as the hidden support base of the Pigua system. It organizes independent armor components through carrying and suspension without replacing the protective role of the Body Armor itself.

CG Reconstruction Interpretation

Armor Support Vest is one of the two stable foundations of the CG system; Body Armor is the other. The vest can remain stable on the body independently and support large skirt panels, Arm Armor, Shoulder Swallows, and other peripheral parts. It is not merely clothing trapped beneath armor.

The vest and Body Armor may connect, but neither depends on the other to stay in place. Their roles remain distinct: the vest organizes peripheral support and suspension, while the front-and-rear Body Armor forms the main stable protective torso structure.
