Rear Apron

Rear Apron, canonically called Guwei (鹘尾) in the CG Armor Vocabulary, is the protective hanging panel at the lower rear of the Layer II armor.

It sits below the Rear Body Armor and covers the lower back and rear waist area while preserving a distinct panel identity. The explanatory Chinese alias 后护片 describes this rear protective placement.

In the CG reconstruction, Rear Apron follows the rear structural chain from Rear Body Armor to the rear hanging panel. Cords, rings, straps, or equivalent attachments can connect them; the exact method remains specific to the chosen reconstruction or historical example.

By extending protection beneath the rear torso armor, it closes the back of the layered silhouette without being confused with the first-layer side Skirt Panels.

CG Reconstruction Interpretation

The rear panel is supported from the rear torso foundation rather than mistaken for the Front Apron or for the two first-layer side Skirt Panels. Its connection should remain reliable without eliminating movement of the lower back and hips.
