Wu Wenhua is a giant warrior who enters Investiture of the Gods near the end of the Shang-Zhou war. He comes to Chaoge seeking military service, boasts that he can haul boats across dry land, consumes an ox for a meal, and carries a vast wooden weapon called the Paipai Wood. The court sends him to Yuan Hong’s army at Mengjin, where his body and appetite mark him as a last, brutal resource for a dynasty running out of defenders.
His first encounter with Longxuhu goes badly because the strange Zhou fighter hurls showers of stones that strike his huge body from a distance. Wu Wenhua retreats, but returns at night with devastating effect. He smashes through successive barriers and palisades, crushes soldiers with the Paipai Wood, and kills dozens of officers, including Longxuhu. The raid throws the Zhou camp into chaos and proves that his size is not comic excess: once he reaches packed troops and fixed defenses, he becomes a moving siege engine.
Yang Jian finally transforms into an even larger giant and frightens him away from another advance, while Jiang Ziya prepares a place where strength cannot create an escape. Wu Wenhua is lured into Panlong Ridge, enclosed, and destroyed by fire. His career is short but leaves a clear measure of battlefield weight. He is strong enough to tear apart an army’s fortifications and exact mass casualties, yet too direct to survive opponents who answer raw force with transformation, deception, and terrain.
