The Apricot-Yellow Banner is an immortal treasure entrusted to Jiang Ziya by Yuanshi Tianzun in Investiture of the Gods. It gives the commander a sacred means of overcoming dangers beyond ordinary military command.
In chapter 38, Yuanshi hands over the central banner with instructions concealed inside. When Longxuhu threatens Jiang Ziya, the commander plants it in the ground and challenges the creature to pull it free. Longxuhu cannot move it and is subdued before becoming his disciple.
The banner connects the teacher’s guidance with Jiang Ziya’s work in the human world. Its cloth-and-pole form remains clear while the encounter explains its extraordinary authority; it is more than an ordinary yellow military standard.
