Belly Swallow

Belly Swallow is a beast-head armor component mounted over the lower front torso or abdominal armor region.

It sits below the main chest elements, where its projecting animal form combines local protection with the visual language of the swallowing beast head.

The component belongs to the front armor assembly, but it is not the structural body armor itself. Its exact animal features and attachment details may vary within the established CG visual canon.

Belly Swallow protects and marks the abdominal center while giving the lower torso a strong, recognizable martial focus.

CG Reconstruction Interpretation

Belly Swallow is not merely decoration. In the CG reconstruction it can protect the abdomen, act as a vertical suspension node, position the front belt, and connect upper and lower front armor.

Its upper edge may join Chest Armor or the upper front structure through iron rings, leather buckles, cords, or equivalent attachments. Its open mouth can receive and hold the front belt, providing structural positioning rather than only a beast-head motif.

This places the component in the front path from Front Body Armor through Chest Armor and Belly Swallow to the front belt and lower front elements. The roles belong to the approved reconstruction; individual historical images do not require one identical hidden fastening.

CG Reconstruction Interpretation: Composite Construction

Belly Swallow need not be assumed to be one fully formed thick metal shell. Shaped hard leather can create the complex beast-head form, while internal metal liners or localized reinforcing plates provide protection and structural strength. This is especially plausible for a connection node carrying rings, cords, straps, and upper or lower attachments on or behind the piece. It remains a CG reconstruction interpretation, not a universal claim.
