Cosmic Stature is the towering combat form assumed by Sun Wukong and Erlang Shen in Journey to the West. The Chinese expression fatian xiangdi makes the body seem to take heaven and earth as its measure.
Chapter 6 shows Erlang expanding to an immense height with a transformed face and weapon. Wukong answers with an equally vast body and staff. Their contest overwhelms the watching monkeys, yet Wukong abandons the form when he sees his followers being scattered.
The transformation changes the scale of the encounter and makes matched supernatural strength visible. The giant body does not settle the battle by itself: concern for others and events elsewhere still redirect the fight.
