Front Body Armor

Front Body Armor is the main torso armor protecting the front of the body. In CG terminology it is the front half of the Layer II body-armor system.

It sits over the front torso and remains structurally distinct from Chest Armor, which is an additional chest-mounted element, and from the Heart-Protecting Mirror at the center chest.

The approved CG structure connects Front Body Armor to Rear Body Armor through two leather shoulder straps and left and right side straps beneath the arms. No continuous hidden shell or additional fastening mechanism is implied.

This distinction explains how the main front defense carries attached components while remaining one part of a modular body-armor assembly.

CG Reconstruction Interpretation

With Rear Body Armor, shoulder straps and two side connections make an independently stable torso system. It may connect to the Armor Support Vest, but does not require the vest to stay in place.

In the Owner-locked front load path, Front Body Armor supports Chest Armor, which connects onward to Belly Swallow and the front belt. The Front Apron belongs to the lower front assembly. These are structural roles in the CG reconstruction rather than a claim that every historical image uses identical hardware.
