Hooked-Spear Method

钩镰枪法

The Hooked-Spear Method is the training system Xu Ning teaches at Liangshan to defeat Huyan Zhuo’s chain cavalry. It turns one specialist’s knowledge into a coordinated force, linking weapon design, footwork, drill, and battlefield purpose.

Chapter 57 gives unusually concrete instruction: routes, hooks, deflections, thrusts, turns, and step counts are named before selected soldiers train day and night. Hidden infantry then target the horses’ lower legs while other troops exploit the collapse of the linked formation.

The method is related to, but distinct from, the published Hooked Spear object. One page explains the implement; this page explains learned movement and organized deployment. Its importance lies in transmission and combined action, not in a magical property of the hook.
