The Luo Family Spear Method is Luo Cheng’s inherited spear tradition in Shuo Tang. Its identity comes from lineage and from a decisive returning-horse thrust that the story treats as guarded family knowledge.
Chapter 9 names Luo family spear during Luo Cheng’s exchange of skills with Qin Qiong. Each promises full teaching but withholds a finishing move; Luo keeps back the returning-horse spear. Chapter 29 again has Yang Lin recognize the method during battle, showing that its style functions as an identifying signature.
The method is distinct from Luo Cheng’s physical spear. It describes learned movement, tactical timing, and transmission between people. Later performance traditions may elaborate named sequences, but those expansions should not be presented as verbatim content of the novel.
