Gan Ning

Overview

甘宁是东汉末年孙权麾下名将，早年以豪侠闻名，绰号“锦帆贼”，后来投奔东吴，在多次水陆战事中建立战功。《三国演义》中的甘宁勇猛果敢、富有冒险精神，尤以“百骑劫魏营”的故事著称。他常被描绘为极具个性和行动力的东吴猛将，在以周瑜、吕蒙等统帅人物著称的东吴阵营中，甘宁代表了最鲜明的冲锋陷阵型武将形象。

Gan Ning was a renowned general under Sun Quan in the late Eastern Han dynasty. In his early years he became known as a bold adventurer and was famously nicknamed the “Brocade-Sail Bandit” before eventually entering the service of Eastern Wu and distinguishing himself in numerous campaigns on land and water. In Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Gan Ning is portrayed as fearless, decisive, and daring, and is especially celebrated for the episode in which he leads one hundred horsemen in a raid on the Wei camp. Among the many commanders and strategists of Eastern Wu, Gan Ning stands out as one of its most vivid and aggressive frontline warriors.
