Sun Li

Overview

孙立是《水浒传》中的梁山好汉，原为登州兵马提辖，人称“病尉迟”。他武艺高强，善使长枪和竹节钢鞭，并精于弓马，是梁山人物中具有鲜明职业军官色彩的高手。孙立与解珍、解宝等登州人物一同投奔梁山，并在攻破祝家庄时发挥重要作用。虽然在梁山排位中仅列地煞，但其武艺和实战表现远超普通头领，甚至能够与呼延灼等一流猛将交锋，因此常被视为梁山排名与实际武力并不相称的代表人物之一。

Sun Li is one of the Liangshan heroes in Water Margin. Originally a military officer in Dengzhou, he is nicknamed “Sick Yuchi,” a reference to the celebrated Tang warrior Yuchi Gong. An accomplished professional fighter, Sun Li is skilled with the spear and segmented steel whip and is also proficient in mounted archery, giving him the distinct character of a career military officer among the Liangshan ranks. He joins Liangshan together with Xie Zhen, Xie Bao, and the other Dengzhou figures, and plays an important role in the capture of the Zhu Family Village. Although officially ranked among the lower-ranking Earthly Fiends, his martial ability and battlefield record far exceed those of an ordinary chieftain: he is capable of fighting elite warriors such as Huyan Zhuo on equal terms. For this reason, Sun Li is often regarded as one of the clearest examples of a Liangshan hero whose official ranking understates his actual fighting ability.
