The Cloud-Mist Beast is the extraordinary mount given to Yang Ren by Qingxu Daode Zhenjun in Investiture of the Gods. Clouds rising beneath its four feet carry its rider through the air, connecting a remote immortal retreat with urgent action in the human war.
Chapter 80 describes Yang Ren mounting the beast and tapping its horn. It takes to the sky and brings him toward Tong Pass, where he intercepts the escort of captured Zhou commanders. The journey makes the creature’s speed and aerial travel part of a rescue, rather than a decorative display.
Alongside the eyes in his hands, spear, and fire fan, the mount makes Yang Ren’s arrival unmistakable. The text supplies a horn and cloud-borne feet; it need not be forced into a precise animal species to explain its identity or its place in the mission.
