Yang Ren

Overview

杨任是《封神演义》中的重要神将人物，原为商朝大夫，因进谏触怒纣王而遭受酷刑，后被清虚道德真君救下并收为弟子。小说赋予他极具辨识度的异相：双眼所在之处生出两只手，手心又各有一眼。杨任后来下山助周伐商，战死后受封为甲子太岁。

Yang Ren is an important divine warrior in Investiture of the Gods. Originally an official of the Shang court, he is brutally punished after remonstrating with King Zhou, but is rescued by Qingxu Daode Zhenjun and accepted as his disciple. The novel gives Yang Ren one of its most distinctive supernatural appearances: two hands emerge from where his eyes once were, with an eye in the palm of each hand. He later descends from the mountains to aid the Zhou campaign against the Shang and, after being killed in battle, is enfeoffed as Jiazi Taisui.
