Lingya Xian is the Jie-tradition adept who guards the Two Modes Array within the Ten Thousand Immortals Array.
Like Qiushou Xian, he fights with weapons before activating his formation and reveals a divine-beast form after defeat. His original form, however, is a white elephant.
Paired Swords
Lingya Xian enters battle wielding two swords, immediately distinguishing him from Qiushou Xian’s single sword. Puxian Zhenren is ordered by Yuanshi Tianzun to break the array.
They first exchange blows outside the formation. Lingya Xian then retreats into the Two Modes Array.
The Two Modes Array
When Lingya Xian activates the array, thunder erupts and Jie-tradition techniques close around Puxian Zhenren. Puxian manifests a transformed body and suppresses the formation. Lingya Xian is eventually captured with the Long-Rainbow Cord.
Lingya Xian guards the Two Modes Array, fights Puxian Zhenren outside it, and retreats into the formation before activating its thunderous power.
The White Elephant
After the capture, Nanji Xianweng strikes Lingya Xian with the Three-Treasures Jade Ruyi and forces him to reveal his original form: a white elephant. The elephant is then assigned to Puxian Zhenren as a mount.
This episode directly links Lingya Xian to the later image of Puxian’s white elephant.
From Array Guardian to White Elephant
The episode moves from paired-sword combat to the defeat of the Two Modes Array and finally to Lingya Xian’s transformation into a white elephant. Puxian Zhenren subdues him at each stage and receives the elephant as a mount after the battle.
