The Pangu Banner is Yuanshi Tianzun’s formation-subduing treasure in Investiture of the Gods. During the Ten Thousand Immortals Formation, he places it in the hands of Wenshu Guangfa Tianzun so the disciple can confront the Taiji array.
Chapter 83 names the banner directly. Wenshu carries it into the formation and unfurls it to hold the array in check before revealing his transformed sacred body. The banner’s role is therefore precise: it controls the formation’s pressure and makes the encounter possible.
Its identity should remain a banner rather than an invented generic energy weapon. The name evokes primordial ordering, and the narrative confirms that function through the act of steadying a dangerous array. Form comes from cloth, staff, and ritual display; meaning comes from transmitted authority.
