The Yin-Yang Mirror is Chijingzi’s mirror treasure in Investiture of the Gods. Its two faces act upon life and death, giving a small reflecting object a power far beyond ordinary sight.
In chapter 59, Yin Hong turns the white side toward warriors and brings them down, then uses the red side to revive them. Chapter 60 identifies the mirror with Chijingzi and shows its limits when Yin Hong turns it on Nezha: Nezha’s lotus-derived body does not respond like a body of flesh and blood.
The red and white faces belong to the novel’s own description. Their contrast makes the mirror easy to recognize and gives visible form to the reversal between collapse and revival. Chijingzi’s connection remains essential even when his disciple is the one displaying its power.
