Zhou Tong, nicknamed the “Little Conqueror,” is a Liangshan hero in Water Margin who first appears as an outlaw leader at Peach Blossom Mountain, where he operates together with Li Zhong.
Zhou Tong becomes determined to marry the daughter of a local man at Peach Blossom Village against her family’s wishes. When Lu Zhishen passes through the area and learns what is happening, he decides to intervene and disguises himself as the bride while waiting inside the room.
When Zhou Tong enters, Lu Zhishen gives him a severe beating. Li Zhong later arrives and recognizes Lu Zhishen, allowing the conflict to be settled through their existing martial connections. Zhou Tong ultimately agrees to abandon the forced marriage.
The Peach Blossom Mountain group later joins Liangshan, and Zhou Tong becomes one of the 108 heroes together with Li Zhong. Following the imperial amnesty, he participates in the later campaigns and is eventually killed during the war against Fang La. His identity remains closely associated with Peach Blossom Mountain and his memorable encounter with Lu Zhishen.
