Yuding Zhenren is the Chan immortal of Golden Rosy Cloud Cave on Jade Spring Mountain and the master of Yang Jian in Investiture of the Gods. His standing is shown through the disciple he has trained: Yang Jian’s transformations, resilience, and judgment repeatedly make him Jiang Ziya’s most adaptable supernatural fighter. Yuding often supplies the instruction that sends those abilities toward a precise problem.
When Zhao Gongming captures Huanglong Zhenren and hangs him from a banner pole with a seal suppressing his spirit, Yuding orders Yang Jian to rescue him. Yang changes into a tiny insect, removes the seal, and frees the captive. During Lü Yue’s plague assault, Yang Jian again acts on his master’s direction to seek the divine herb that cures the infected city. Yuding himself enters the battle at the southern gate and kills Zhu Tianlin with his Immortal-Slaying Sword before joining the attack on Lü Yue.
Yuding fights with the senior Chan immortals in the final formation wars. He is assigned one gate of the Immortal-Execution Formation and takes the Juexian Sword; the four recovered swords are later used over the Myriad Immortals Formation. Near the campaign’s end, Yang Jian returns to Jade Spring Mountain for guidance against Gao Ming and Gao Jue, whose distant sight and hearing expose every plan. Master, cave, sword, and repeated tactical counsel give Yuding an active role beyond lineage alone.
