Overview

索超是《水浒传》中的梁山好汉，原为北京大名府留守司正牌军，人称“急先锋”。他性情急躁刚烈，好与人争先，惯使一柄金蘸斧，是典型的冲锋型猛将。小说中，索超曾与杨志比武，又在梁山攻打大名府时与梁山军交战，后来被俘归顺。索超的“急先锋”绰号与他的性格、战斗方式高度统一：勇猛、急进、不甘人后，是梁山众多武将中性格与战场形象最为鲜明的人物之一。

Suo Chao is one of the Liangshan heroes in Water Margin. Originally a military officer serving at Daming Prefecture, he is nicknamed the “Impatient Vanguard.” Hot-tempered, fierce, and always eager to charge ahead of others, he fights with a massive gilded battle-axe and embodies the archetype of the aggressive frontline warrior. In the novel, Suo Chao famously competes with Yang Zhi in martial combat and later fights against the Liangshan forces during their attack on Daming before being captured and joining them. His nickname perfectly matches both his temperament and his style of battle: bold, impetuous, and unwilling to fall behind, making him one of Liangshan’s most distinctive battlefield personalities.
