Randeng Daoren is a senior Chan immortal in Investiture of the Gods who coordinates the supernatural campaigns around Xiqi. During the Ten Absolute Formations he presides over the assembled immortals, studies each formation, and assigns challengers. His authority is practical and military: he organizes who enters, judges danger, and keeps Jiang Ziya’s camp functioning when ordinary armies cannot proceed.
Zhao Gongming’s twenty-four Dinghai Pearls defeat Randeng and several Chan immortals, but the fugitive Xiao Sheng knocks them down with the Coin of Treasure-Falling. After Xiao Sheng dies, Randeng acquires the pearls, provoking the Three Xiao sisters and the Nine-Bend Yellow River Formation. He escapes the Hunyuan Golden Dou by earth flight.
Later Randeng confronts Kong Xuan and uses the Dinghai Pearls and Purple-Gold Alms Bowl, only to see both swallowed by five-colored divine light. His episodes combine senior command with real vulnerability: he is an experienced director and treasure-user, yet repeatedly meets powers that force retreat or outside assistance.
