Yuyi Xian

羽翼仙

Yuyi Xian is a winged adept whose true form creates one of the largest creature spectacles in Investiture of the Gods. He normally appears as a Daoist, but his original body is an enormous golden-winged peng whose wings can darken the sky.

He passes between the guise of a human Daoist and the true body of a colossal golden-winged peng.

Entering the War

Yuyi Xian becomes involved in the conflict and attempts to use his supernatural power against Xiqi. He is not simply a person who can fly. His greatest strength emerges only when he reveals his true form.

The Golden-Winged Peng

At night, Yuyi Xian takes the form of a golden-winged peng. The novel says that when its wings unfold, half the sky becomes dark. Each beat sounds like spring thunder, and the bird claims it can fan the waters of the Four Seas dry.

The scale is far beyond that of an ordinary divine bird.

Fanning Xiqi

Yuyi Xian tries to destroy Xiqi with his wings. Jiang Ziya draws water from the Northern Sea to protect the city, while Yuanshi Tianzun strengthens the defense with Three-Light Divine Water.

Yuyi Xian beats his wings again and again. He expects the water to disappear, but it continues to rise. From the first night watch until the fifth, he nearly exhausts himself without breaking the city’s protection.

The Connection with Randeng

Yuyi Xian later becomes closely connected with Randeng Daoren, who finally subdues him through magic and karmic affinity.

He therefore connects naturally to Randeng Daoren, Jiang Ziya, Xiqi, the golden-winged peng, and the wider world of flying divine beasts.
