Yuding Zhenren is one of the Chan immortals in Investiture of the Gods. He resides at Golden Rosy Cloud Cave on Jade Spring Mountain and is best known as the master of Erlang Shen.
During the Investiture war, Yuding Zhenren belongs to the wider group of Chan immortals supporting the Xiqi cause. He occupies a clear place within the religious network surrounding Yuanshi Tianzun and the other senior members of the tradition.
His most important character connection is Erlang Shen, who becomes one of the most powerful supernatural warriors fighting for the Zhou side. Skilled in transformations and possessing extraordinary combat ability, Erlang Shen plays decisive roles in many battles.
As the conflict between the Jie and Chan traditions intensifies, Yuding Zhenren also participates in the larger actions of the Chan side against powerful opponents and supernatural formations.
Within Celestial Generals, Yuding Zhenren functions primarily as a Person Subject connecting Erlang Shen, Yuanshi Tianzun, and the master-disciple structure of the Chan network. His importance lies more in this supernatural lineage than in the visual identity of a conventional battlefield warrior.
