Xu Chu

Overview

许褚是东汉末年曹操麾下名将，以勇力绝伦、忠诚护主闻名。《三国演义》中，他被塑造成曹营最顶尖的猛将之一，因体格雄壮、勇猛异常而有“虎痴”之称。许褚与马超裸衣恶战等情节尤其著名，其粗犷勇猛、忠直少言的形象深入人心，与典韦并称时，常被视为曹操身边最具代表性的两大猛将。

Xu Chu was a celebrated general under Cao Cao in the late Eastern Han dynasty, renowned for his immense strength and fierce loyalty. In Romance of the Three Kingdoms, he is portrayed as one of the most formidable warriors in Cao Cao’s forces and is famously nicknamed the “Tiger Fool” for his massive physique and extraordinary ferocity. His bare-chested duel with Ma Chao is among his best-known episodes. With his rugged courage, straightforward character, and few words, Xu Chu became an enduring popular image of the mighty warrior and, together with Dian Wei, is often remembered as one of Cao Cao’s two great martial champions and personal protectors.
