The Wagang Army is the rebel coalition centered on Wagang Stronghold in the Sui–Tang romance tradition. It gathers heroes who oppose the failing Sui order, but it is also a changing political body with a ruler, commanders, councils, recruitment, surrender, and eventual dispersal.
The Tale of the Tang repeatedly names Wagang Stronghold and its assembled generals. Cheng Yaojin occupies its throne, Qin Qiong commands forces, Xu Maogong directs strategy, and Luo Cheng becomes one of the decisive fighters around the coalition. Their shared cause is real even when their motives and later destinations differ.
The Wagang identity explains how separate heroes become a force capable of contesting an empire. It should not be flattened into a uniform modern army. Its strength comes from negotiated loyalty, personal reputation, stronghold government, and the temporary convergence of many legendary careers.
