Overview

Guan Sheng, nicknamed “Great Blade,” is one of Liangshan’s foremost commanders and is presented as a descendant of the legendary Three Kingdoms general Guan Yu. Originally an imperial officer, he is skilled in military strategy and wields the Green Dragon Crescent Blade. After joining Liangshan, he becomes the highest-ranking of its Five Tiger Generals of the Cavalry. In ancestry, appearance, weapon, and bearing, the novel deliberately portrays Guan Sheng as an heir to the image of Guan Yu, giving him a distinctive symbolic status among the heroes of Liangshan.
